We are about to embark on the home stretch of the school year.   April is always an exciting and busy month with the Maple Festival, state testing, spring sports, spring break, and more. I hope all of you find a way to enjoy the spring by getting active outside or starting a new hobby.  

As we work through the budget calendar, preparing for the Annual Budget Hearing on May 13th, the district appreciates your ongoing support and feedback.  This will be an opportunity for you to hear our budget presentation, but more importantly, to seek clarification. The Annual Budget Hearing is an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers.  I can promise you that we are building a solid financial plan. The emphasis is on quality academic programs, extracurricular activities, and student opportunities. The budget plan also ensures appropriate staffing and the support needed to be successful. The financial plan is built on forward thinking and created with a vision to sustain us through the uncertain fiscal future of New York State education funding. 

We are continuing to recruit for bus drivers, maintenance staff, and district-wide substitutes in all areas. Please share our website with anyone who may be interested in working in the district: www.marathonschools.org .

Also, we are still diligently engaged in the process of developing our next three-year Strategic Plan.  Thanks to all of who participated in our Strategic Plan Survey and to those of you who have served on our Strategic Plan Core Committee.  We have spent time working through the feedback received from the comprehensive school community including staff, parents, students, and local stakeholders.  This has been of great assistance to us in the strategic planning process.
