The School District does not discriminate in employment or in the education programs and activities which it operates on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religion, race, or handicap in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972, or § 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the New York State Human Rights Law.
Appropriate procedures shall be developed to insure the implementation of these rules and regulations concerning civil rights. The Board of Education shall appoint a Civil Rights Compliance Officer and a Title IX Coordinator to coordinate civil rights activities applicable to Marathon Central School District.

The Civil Rights Compliance Officers shall be responsible for providing information, including complaint procedures, and for handling complaints relative to civil rights (e.g., Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990) for any student, parent, employee or applicant.
